Creating and maintaining small to medium sized websites (though that could be up to a few hundred pages) for local businesses and organisations.
Setting up of web hosting, web servers and virtual hosting.
I write html and css in a text editor (GNU Emacs) meaning that I write the code directly and do not rely on any supposed shortcuts or software that writes the code (inevitably badly) for me.
This means:
Call or email me and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have or help that you need with your website.
Since I work from a home office I prefer not to put my address online for obvious reasons.
I do not resell web hosting since I think it is in the best interests of my clients to deal with a hosting company directly without any middle-man.
This means that you control your hosting and are not artificially tied to me by a hosting contract. I can give advice on the best hosting for you and it is easy to set up.
Commonly known as "Content Management Systems", my experience is that the vast majority of small to medium sized businesses are best served by a well written so-called static website.
This means that you do not rely on complicated setups with compoments that can easily go wrong and are often difficult to fix. Static websites are easy to maintain and are much more flexible in terms of search engine optimisation, design and portability.
